With over 25 years of hands-on experience, I specialise in heritage carpentry right here in Wellington. I’ve spent my career working on the villas and bungalows that define the city, developing a clear understanding of how they were originally built and how they’ve aged over time. My focus is on character home restoration, carrying out repairs that respect both the structure and materials of each house.I handle everything from sash window repair and timber door restoration to native timber flooring and traditional joinery. I work primarily with Rimu, Matai, and Kauri, ensuring new work is carefully matched to existing timber so it sits naturally within the home. As a local Wellington carpenter, my business is built on trust and reliability. I show up when I say I will, communicate clearly, and deliver work that’s done properly and built to last in Wellington conditions.
Furniture & Antique Restoration
I specialise in the restoration of antique and vintage furniture right here in Wellington, working with a clear understanding of how each piece was originally made and how it has worn over time. The aim is to bring it back into use without losing the character that gives it value, whether it’s a family heirloom or a more recent vintage piece.I carry out antique furniture repair, timber refinishing, and structural restoration using appropriate methods and materials to ensure the work is sound and in keeping with the original build. Wherever possible, original components are retained and repaired rather than replaced.All work is completed in my dedicated Wellington workshop, where each piece can be properly assessed and reworked. As with my heritage carpentry, this work is built on trust and reliability, with a focus on careful, consistent results that last.
